Dr. Oriana Potere, biologist, since 1999 has been working at the Department of Plant Protection (now DiSSPA), with expertise in serological approach for the study and the diagnosis of plant viruses. Her professional activity mainly concerns production, characterization, use for detection and taxonomic studies of new monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies specific to plant pathogens involved in diseases of economic significance; development and validation of different serological methods for phytopathological diagnosis. She is responsible of management and in vivo conservation of collections of quarantine plant agents and of performance of official analysis for CTV. Recently she has optimized and validated serological methods for large-scale detection of Apulian strain of X. fastidiosa in olive and other host plants. The research activity is documented by more than 50 publications.
