ILARIA ANTELMI
PhD in Plant Protection. She has been working on some fungal diseases, in particular of olive disease, focusing on diagnosis, aetiology, and control. Research interests: Diagnosis, etiology and control of olive fungal disease , in particular on Verticillium wilt and Olive antrachnose; Traditional and molecular tools for detection and identification of pathogens; Studies of host-pathogen interaction using traditional and molecular tools (Agrobacterium tumefaciens Mediated Transformation, Genome-wide transcriptome Analysis). Currently, she is working on the two Colletotrichum acutatum sensu stricto and C. godetiae genome analysis. Also she is involved in the researches on the “Quick Decline Syndrome of olive”, caused by Xylella fastidiosa, and she reported some undescribed fungal species associated with QDSO, and whose role is currently under investigation.
