DONATO BOSCIA

Head of the operative unit of Bari; he is a plant virologist specialised in serology (development and application of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies applied to strain identification). He has deeply contributed to the development of the main research program now ongoing in Apulia on X. fastidiosa, by coordinating the field and laboratory activities. He has contributed to develop important scientific evidences on the novel X. fastidiosa strain spreading in Apulia. He has published over 50 peer reviewed papers and has coordinated 6 R&D research projects and authored two patents on diagnostic kit. He is a Hearing Expert in EFSA WG Xylella fastidiosa pest risk assessment, PLH panel 2012-2015 (ALPHA).
