DANILO TAVANO

I got a degree in “Agricultural Science and Technology” at University of Bari Aldo Moro, the same place where I earned a PhD title in “Commodity Science”.
From 2006 to 2008 I worked as a researcher at the Department of Plant Protection and Applied Microbiology (today DISSPA). I was involved in plant disease diagnosis with particular reference to serological and molecular techniques. I did field activities as pomological surveys, sampling and in situ early detection.
From 2010 to 2013 I attended a PhD in “Commodity Science” and I worked on the potential enhancement of food products with particular reference to energy uses.
I am an expert taster of olive oils, I’m registered in the regional list of tasters of virgin and extra virgin olive oils. Official Bulletin of the Apulia Region n. 74 of 28/05/2015.
I am author of books and publications in the olive sector and agricultural science. I regularly perform divulgative seminars and technical meetings. I’m currently working as a research fellow in the frame of POnTE Project.
