Eight new outbreaks of Xylella fastidiosa discovered in Corsica since the beginning of July
On July 12, the Regional Directorate for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (DRAAF) of Corsica has notified the discovery of eight new outbreaks of Xylella fastidiosa, in the regional territory, since the beginning of the month. Following this new update, the map of Xylella fastidiosa subsp. multiplex presence in the island is now comprising 261 outbreaks, 247 of which are located in Corse-du-Sud and 14 in Haute-Corse.
The last outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of Bastia, Biguglia, Cauro, Pietrosella, Serra di Fero and Ocana. The infected zone is now comprising 53 municipalities, whereas the buffer zone still includes 179 municipalities and covers a total surface of 3958 km². The complete list is available at this link.
