A Project Meeting on POnTE research on CaLsol pathosystem held in Bordeaux
INRA hosted in Bordeaux, on last 10-11 April, a Project meeting dedicated to the scientific activities carried out in POnTE and related to ‘Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum’ (CaLsol). A total of 11 researchers from 9 partner institutions (INRA, LUKE, University of Helsinki, Vilmorin, SG SASA, University of Wageningen, ICA-CSIC, ANSES, Agricola Villena) and 5 different countries participated the meeting.
The vivid discussions covered a wide range of topics: recent results of Multilocus sequence typing (MLST) analyses, possibility to suggest a common MLST method, nomenclature of new haplotypes/stains, different methods to detect viable CaLsol cells, identification of psyllids species from suction traps and evaluation of their vector efficiency, spatial and temporal distribution of CaLsol, the possibility of utilizing landscape modelling to study CaLsol epidemiology.
The participants left with the agreement to release, in the next weeks, a fact sheet to be addressed to the general public and to stakeholders interested in the CaLsol topic.
