POnTE contributes to the launch of XF-ACTORS, the new H2020 Project on Xylella fastidiosa
On 14th-16th of November the IAMB (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, Italy) will host the Kick-off meeting of the Project “Xylella Fastidiosa Active Containment Through a multidisciplinary-Oriented Research Strategy (XF-ACTORS)”, funded under the H2020 Programme – EU.3.2.1.1. – Increasing production efficiency and coping with climate change, while ensuring sustainability and resilience – Topic SFS-09-2016 – Spotlight on critical outbreak of pests: the case of Xylella fastidiosa. The program of the meeting includes the active participation of the Coordinator and other representatives of the Consortium POnTE which will report the current status of the research on Xylella fastidiosa. After a brief overview given by Donato Boscia (CNR-IPSP), the following speeches will introduce the sessions of the meeting dedicated to different project tasks of XF-ACTORS:
- Juan A. Navas-Cortés (CSIC-IAS): ‘Approaches and preliminary data on the disease modeling and epidemiology’
- Annalisa Giampetruzzi (UNIBA-DiSSPA): ‘Recent advances in the genomics of the EU strains and characterization of the CoDiRO strain’
- Domenico Bosco (UNITO): ‘Overview on the ongoing EFSA procurement ‘Collection of data and information on biology and control of vectors of Xylella fastidiosa‘
- Massimiliano Morelli (IPSP-CNR): ‘The POnTE Project web site: a tool for scientific dissemination and collaborative platform’
