Participation of POnTE researchers at the XI Symposium of Serbian Entomologists
POnTE researchers of the University of Belgrade-Faculty of Agriculture participated at the XI Symposium of Serbian Entomologists with international participation, held at the teaching base “Goč” – Touristic complex “Piramida” on Goč Mountain in Serbia from 17 to 21 September 2017.
Dr. Dušanka Jerinić-Prodanović presented the results of research on “Leaf psyllids (Hemiptera, Psylloidea) collected in the carrot crops” which is part of the work within the POnTE project activities.
The research on the presence of psyllids was conducted in carrot crops in Serbia covering the areas of Banat (Opovo, Debeljača, Kovačica, Idvor), Bačka (Futog, Begeč, Bački Brestovac, Gospođinci), Srem (Ilinci) and Stig (Nabrđe), in the period 2014‒2017.
Findings revealed the presence of Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum potential vectors – the species of the genera Trioza and Bactericera. Additionally, it was found that the number and diversity of psyllids varied throughout the vegetative period.
