EFSA announces the second European conference on Xylella fastidiosa to be held in Ajaccio in 2019
The second scientific conference on European research into Xylella fastidiosa will be held in Ajaccio, Corsica, from 29-31 October 2019. Registration and the call for abstracts will open in February 2019.
The conference is being organised jointly by: EFSA; the Conservatoire Botanique National de Corse; the Euphresco network for phytosanitary research coordination and funding; the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA); the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (ANSES); and the EU Horizon 2020 projects POnTE and XF-ACTORS.
The programme will include presentations and workshops looking at issues such as current knowledge of the pathogen, how it is transmitted, resistance in plants and control measures.
The first conference took place in Mallorca, Spain, in 2017 and was attended by more than 250 scientists, researchers and other specialists from around the world.
