AHMED HAJRI

My research interests span a wide range of topics including the study of microbe pathogenicity mechanisms and the engineering of durable resistance to diseases. I obtained my Ph.D. in 2009 from INRA Angers. My thesis focused on the study of the genetic basis of host specificity of phytopathogenic bacteria of the genus Xanthomonas. I then did a postdoc at INRA Angers where I studied the etiology of a new bacterial disease that emerged in French walnut orchards. My second postdoctoral experience (INRA Rennes) focused on the study of the molecular mechanisms underlying plant disease resistance in the Aphanomyces euteiches/Medicago truncatula pathosystem. Throughout my scientific career, I had the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills including plant pathology, evolutionary and population genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, phylogeny, microbiology and molecular biology. I am currently working at ANSES as postdoctoral researcher to study the genetic diversity of Candidatus Liberibacter solanaceraum.
