GIULIANA LOCONSOLE

Researcher with 10 years of experience on invasive plant pathogens of woody crops gaining experience and contributing to develop novel knowledge on biological, serological and molecular characterization of olive- and citrus pathogens, development of innovative diagnostic approaches (recombinant antisera, multiplex Real-time assays and High Resolution melting approaches). She has been involved in two R&D research projects focusing on the use of next-generation sequencing for the characterization of viral diseases of unknown aetiology and to explore the mechanisms occurring in citrus plants infected by Citrus tristeza virus, under cross-protection conditions. She has contributed to provide preliminary indication on the genotype of the CoDiRO strain by sequencing of housekeeping and MLST genes and to implement molecular diagnosis of CoDiRO strain on olive and candidate vectors. She has published 15 peer reviewed papers.
