CERTIS EUROPE BV. is a company with an established crop protection business with direct operations in key European markets, Certis Europe combines proprietary products with those from a range of supplier partners in a wide-ranging portfolio. Unique among suppliers to the horticultural, specialty and arable crop sectors, Certis provides solutions for growers that take account of market demands and pressures, as well as crop production challenges. Certis Europe has adopted the principle of a life cycle management of its products from their discovery and development to their use and final disposal or phase-out. This so called Product Stewardship Policy is based on the International Code of Conduct on the Distribution and use of Pesticides (Food and Agricultural Organization 2002).

ROLE IN THE PROJECT

CERTIS EUROPE will be in charge of the assessment of the efficacy of Beauveria bassiana and Maltodextrin to control psyllids (CaLSol vectors) in target crops under insect-proof protection and testing the reduction or elimination of vector population for the control of the Xf vector populations (Beauveria bassiana against psyllids and cicadellidae). The establishment of demonstrative plots by end users where the developed management practices will be applied in coordination with P24 (Cooperativa Agrícola de Villena) as the biggest carrot and celery producer in Spain. The main goal will be the development of cultural or innovative IPM practices by integration of common practices with all activities to implementation of definitive IPM programs.
